WHAT IS EPASS

ePASS is a quick and easy way for customers to get information about benefits and services that may help them. Customers can also complete applications for Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) and Medicaid online with the option to electronically submit an FNS application. A final eligibility decision will be made by your local department of social services after you submit your application.

Getting Started

Before starting your application, you may want to create a new individual NCID account or log in to your individual ncid account if you already have one. To open the saved application form you will need to have a program called Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you don't have this program on your computer, you may install it for free by clicking here.
Please review items recommended below. Having these items will help you complete the application process. If you are completing this application on behalf of another household in which you do not reside, enter only information about that household.

Browser Help

Using the web browser buttons (such as Back and Forward) to navigate within ePASS may produce unexpected results. It is highly recommended that you only use the navigation links (such as Back and Next) within ePASS itself.ePASS supports the following web browsers: Internet Explorer versions 7, 8 and 9 , Firefox versions 3.0.1 and 3.5.3. 
JavaScript must be enabled to use ePASS. An ePASS session will time out after 30 minutes of inactivity. The minimum recommended screen resolution is 1024x768.If you require assistance for Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) while using ePASS, please call the FNS Customer Service Center at 1-866-719-0141 or 1-877-452-2514 (TTY Dedicated). The call center is available 7 days a week from 7 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. including state holidays.

If you require assistance for Medicaid/North Carolina Health Choice while using ePASS, please call the DHHS Customer Service Center at 1-800-662-7030 (English, Spanish), or 1-877-452-2514 (TTY Dedicated). The call center is available from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays excluding state holidays.

You are welcome to wait for an Intake worker to complete your Food and Nutrition application or you may go to www.epass.nc.gov  online on the computer.

 Follow the easy to read instructions, complete application and then submit.
